Structural Steel
From the 1st July 2014 it has been mandatory for all fabricated structural steelwork to be produced in conformity with CE and UKCA marking. If a company isn’t compliant to the mandatory CE and UKCA marking laws, they are producing structural steel that is not fit for purpose and failure to comply comes with serious consequences.
Andrew Hicks Engineering is fully compliant with UKCA/CE up to Execution class 3, all our fabricators are coded to weld structural steel in conformance with EN1090. Although the vast majority of steelwork in the UK is covered under Execution Class 2, Execution Class 3 allows us to undertake projects such as pedestrian, road and railway bridges. We highly recommend always asking any potential fabricators you may use for proof of their UKCA marking status before placing an order. Further information on this can be found here.
